The Food Safety Agency told APA that the Qizil Qaya restaurant's general sanitary condition was unsatisfactory, with faults in food processing and storage and risks of cross-contamination. Samples have been sent for laboratory testing.
The inspection follows reports that 14 people fell ill after eating at the restaurant, with five in serious condition, a claim first reported earlier this weekend.
An inspection finding is not a verdict on what made people ill. But it moves the story from a claim to an official record, and the lab results will decide what comes next.
