From January 1, 2027, water debts in Uzbekistan will be collected in a new way.
State company OZSUVTAMINOT says debts for drinking water and sewage will be recovered through a notary for amounts up to 1,000 base calculation units, and through the courts for larger debts.
For households in Tashkent and across Uzbekistan, the change means an unpaid water bill will no longer sit quietly: it will move, automatically, into a formal recovery process.
