A private Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed into a mobile home park near West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon, setting off a major fire.
The jet had left Austin, Texas, for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas when it came down around 12:50 p.m. local time near Greenacres, clipping a tree and power lines before hitting the ground in a fireball, according to local reports and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Authorities reported multiple fatalities, but as of Sunday afternoon had not confirmed a final toll or whether anyone on the ground was among the victims. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
