Kyrgyzstan remains one of the most popular foreign destinations for tourists from Kazakhstan, and a week on Lake Issyk-Kul can cost anywhere from 100 to 700 dollars.

Kazinform reports that Kyrgyzstan received about 1.9 million visitors in the first half of 2026. Tourists are drawn by the short distance, the scenery and the range of options, from budget guesthouses to resorts.

Average daily spending in peak season runs to about 200 dollars per person, according to the agency's Bishkek correspondent.

For Kazakhstanis, Issyk-Kul is the classic summer escape: close, familiar and far cheaper than flying further afield, which is why the lake keeps its place as Central Asia's favorite beach.
