Tashkent's BRT construction reaches Shahristan and the TUIT institute
Construction of the bus rapid transit line on Amir Temur Avenue in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, has reached the Shahristan area and the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) institute, according to drivers reporting to the city channel.
Bus rapid transit gives buses their own lanes, so they move like trams through traffic. For Tashkent, one of Central Asia's largest and most congested cities, each finished stretch is a step toward faster cross-city travel.
