Kazakhstan's ice cream output hits a record, but prices are up too
Kazakhstan produced 77,500 tonnes of ice cream and edible ice in January to August 2026, up 57 percent on the same period last year, and already more than in all of 2025, Kazinform reports. Domestic producers supply 88.2 percent of the market, and exports grew 28.9 percent to 15,300 tonnes, shipped to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Mongolia.
There is a catch. Ice cream and sherbet prices rose 16.9 percent in nine months. So Kazakhstan is making and selling more ice cream than ever, but consumers are paying noticeably more for it.
