Azerbaijan's school uniform rules apply to state schools only, deputy minister says
Azerbaijan's deputy education minister Firudin Qurbanov has clarified that the unified dress code rules apply only to state schools, APA reports. Private schools set their own dress rules under their charters, he said in an interview.
Qurbanov said the debate should not be reduced to clothing alone. The point, he said, is the school environment the country wants to build, based on mutual respect and equality. The rules cover both pupils and teachers in state general education institutions.
