Leonid meteor shower peaks over Azerbaijan on the night of November 17 to 18
Azerbaijan will get a good view of the Leonid meteor shower this month, AZERTAC reports. The shower peaks at 03:45 Baku time on November 18, with around 15 meteors per hour expected, and the best viewing window runs from 02:00 until dawn on the night of November 17 to 18.
The Leonids are debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle, and in some years they produce spectacular storms. This year the forecast is modest, but a dark sky away from city lights should still reward early risers.
