Ukraine says Russia used the Oleshky humanitarian pause to fortify positions
Ukraine's General Staff says Russian forces used a humanitarian pause in Oleshky, in the occupied Kherson region, to improve their positions, Ateo Breaking reports. During the quiet period, the General Staff said, Russian units rotated troops, strengthened positions, expanded anti-drone defences on roads and built up logistics, including ammunition deliveries.
The claim, attributed to Kyiv, could not be independently verified. Humanitarian pauses are meant to let civilians move or aid flow, and accusations that one side exploits them are a recurring feature of this war. If true, it would complicate the next request for a pause in the same area.
