Man in Aktau, Kazakhstan, explains why he attacked a doctor
Shansharkhan Abdukhalim, the man accused by staff at Aktau's regional children's hospital of attacking a surgeon, has recorded a video statement explaining his side, ZTB News reports. He says the conflict did not come out of nowhere: his son had an operation on October 19, and the father was left with grievances against one of the doctors.
Abdukhalim's statement follows the hospital's accusation, which was widely reported last week. His version does not settle what happened in the examination room, but it adds the backstory the first reports lacked, and it is now part of the public record in a case that has divided opinion in Aktau.
