Uzbekistan's migration numbers tell a sharply uneven story.
Workers from Fergana region send home an average of 1,850 dollars a month each, while workers from Karakalpakstan and Tashkent region send less than 400 dollars, according to figures cited by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and reported by Kun.uz. That gap is why Tashkent is pushing training for higher-paying jobs abroad.
Almost 5,000 Uzbek citizens were also brought home with state help in the first nine months of 2026, with 22.4 billion sums set aside for return help, medical care and temporary housing.
Georgia denied entry to 473 Uzbek citizens in the same period, mostly over unclear travel purpose or missing insurance and documents.
