President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called on Kazakh companies to back Qarmet's new social programme, Bolashaqqa Jol, or Path to the Future.
Speaking to the Qarmet workforce in Temirtau, Kazakhstan, Tokayev said the programme will train and employ young specialists, above all in working professions. The first stage will cover about 500 people from the region.
The programme is Qarmet's attempt to tie the steel giant's revival to local jobs, after the company was brought back from heavy losses and relaunched as a national industrial project.
