Uzbekistan will hand overseas job placement entirely to selected private employment agencies from 2027, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced on November 2.
The agencies will receive 1.5 million sum for every person they place in a high-paying job abroad, plus tax breaks and other incentives, Kun.uz reported.
The move follows the migration overhaul announced earlier this month, and it shifts the state from sending workers abroad itself to paying private firms for results, with the quality of the job as the measure.
