The tremor was recorded 253 kilometres from Datca at a depth of about 9 kilometres, at 19:49 local time. APA put the depth at 9.7 kilometres.
No damage or casualty reports had emerged immediately after the quake. Datca sits on Türkiye's southwestern coast, a seismically active stretch where offshore quakes are common.
