Building one nuclear power plant with two reactors in Kazakhstan will need about 15,000 workers at peak construction and about 1,800 to run it afterwards, the country's atomic energy chief says.
Almasadam Satkaliyev told parliament's economic policy committee that with two plants planned, Kazakhstan must train specialists well in advance. The workforce figure puts a human scale on the country's nuclear ambitions, which already include a third plant site under discussion.
