Kyrgyzstan's Aaisha Kyialbekova has won bronze at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, in women's judo.
Kyialbekova, who also carried Kyrgyzstan's flag at the opening ceremony, took bronze in the women's 63 kg category, giving Kyrgyzstan its first medal of the Dakar 2026 Games. The Youth Olympics, for athletes aged roughly 15 to 18, are where small delegations can make a big statement, and Kyrgyzstan sent just five athletes across four sports.
A bronze at youth level does not guarantee a senior career, but it puts a young judoka on the international map, and for Kyrgyz judo, it is a new name to watch.
