Azerbaijan's Gashim Magomedov has won gold at the Serbia Open 2026 taekwondo tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, in the men's 63 kg category.
Magomedov, the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist, led an Azerbaijani team that also took bronze through Minaya Akbarova in the women's 46 kg event, according to the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation. Serbia Open is an international ranking tournament, a step below the Grand Prix level, but a useful form check for athletes building toward the next Olympic cycle.
For Magomedov, who has already stood on an Olympic podium, gold in Belgrade is less a breakthrough than a confirmation: he is still winning, and still Azerbaijan's standard bearer in the sport.
