Azerbaijan and Ukraine have smashed a cyber-fraud ring that tricked Azerbaijani citizens out of their money, and brought 11 suspects back to Azerbaijan.
The ring was run from Ukraine, according to Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry, which carried out the joint operation with Ukrainian police. Four of those returned were organisers wanted internationally.
The case is a reminder of how much of the fraud targeting Azerbaijanis is now run as an organised cross-border business, not by lone scammers. Investigations continue.
