Azerbaijan's border service detained 46 people for illegal border crossings in October, including 26 Afghan citizens, and seized more than 472 kilograms of drugs.
A further 316 wanted people were detained, the service said. The monthly figures show the southern and western borders remain a busy corridor for both smuggling and irregular migration.
The haul follows a separate Caspian drug bust in Kazakhstan this week, a reminder that narcotics routes run across the whole region, not one border.
