Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the Bahauddin Naqshband mausoleum near Bukhara, where verses were recited and prayers said for peace and prosperity.
The shrine visit came as Mirziyoyev reviewed construction of a new Bukhara complex for major international events, with a congress hall and two hotels worth 136.6 million dollars.
Bukhara is both a spiritual centre and a showcase city for Uzbekistan, and the visit pairs the two: heritage preserved, and the infrastructure to host the world built beside it.
