Hackers in Russia have learned to seize control of Li Auto cars through their master accounts, switching off climate control and screens, and in some cases stopping the car entirely, then demanding ransom for access.
An official Li Auto dealer in Russia confirmed the cases. In Uzbekistan, cars imported unofficially from China are most at risk, and owners are advised to check that their Chinese virtual SIM still works and that they still hold master-account access.
No cases have been reported in Uzbekistan yet, but the warning is timely: a connected car is only as safe as its account.
