Türkiye's nationalist leader Devlet Bahçeli has welcomed Libya's parliament approving the Türkiye-Libya maritime deal, and warned that Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will not accept faits accomplis over their sovereign rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Bahçeli criticised Greece, the Greek Cypriot administration, Israel and the European Union, saying they were troubled by the Türkiye-Libya rapprochement.
The maritime deal is the legal backbone of Türkiye's Eastern Mediterranean claims, and Bahçeli's statement draws a hard line ahead of any new negotiation.
