NEW: From January 1, 2027, Kazakhstanis will be able to get basic medical examinations free of charge even if they are not insured in the compulsory health insurance system, health minister Akmaral Alnazarova said at a briefing.
The basic primary-care examination package will be open to every citizen regardless of insurance status, she said. Diagnosis and treatment of socially significant diseases will be fully covered by the guaranteed state medical package.
The change matters because uninsured Kazakhstanis now face bills or delays for routine checks, and late diagnosis is what turns treatable illness into expensive emergencies.
