Americans are voting in midterm elections today, November 3, with the economy, the cost of living, the war with Iran and health care topping voters' concerns, according to AP-NORC polling cited by Anadolu Agency.
85 percent of voters named the economy and 84 percent the cost of living among the most important issues, while petrol, at 4.18 dollars a gallon on October 31 against 2.98 in February, is up 34.2 percent in a year. Betting markets put Democrats at about 94.5 percent to take the House.
Why it matters: the result decides whether President Donald Trump governs with a friendly Congress or a hostile one, and every market from oil to the lira is watching the count.
