A Kazakh woman who became a surrogate mother in Georgia is suing the Chinese biological parents who, she says, abandoned the child.

Madina, raising the child alone, says she lost the ability to work after a gallbladder rupture and surgery, and took the surrogacy arrangement through an acquaintance named Maria. She says the biological parents then refused the child.

Surrogacy across borders leaves mothers in legal limbo when deals collapse, and Madina's case is now testing that gap in court.
