Kazakhstan will offer up to 300 hectares of farmland to citizens under new rental rules starting in 2027.
At least 30 percent of plots put up for competition must go to Kazakhstanis who have never received farming land before, under an order signed by Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov. Some plots will be contested in separate competitions reserved for first-time farmers.
Land is Kazakhstan's most political asset, and the new rules are aimed at first-timers, not the usual winners.
