Tashkent's metro says it has no plans to introduce women-only carriages in the near future.
Deputy metro chief Yuldash Yusupov told a press conference on November 3 that the current fleet and infrastructure cannot spare separate carriages, though the idea could be considered when new lines are built and new trains bought. He said such a measure could help reduce harassment, a practice used in several countries.
The debate arrived via social media appeals and formal requests to the metro administration. For now, the answer is not yet, not never.
