JUST IN: Another tanker has been hit near the Strait of Hormuz.
Britain's maritime trade agency, UKMTO, said the vessel was struck by an unknown projectile off Lima, Oman, near the mouth of the strait. The hit damaged the engine room and left the ship unable to steer. No casualties or pollution were reported, and regional coast guards were notified.
It is the latest in a run of attacks on commercial shipping in the waterway that carries a large share of the world's oil. With US-Iran talks due to resume in Abu Dhabi, each new strike pushes oil risk higher and hardens the mood at the table.
