Four Afghan citizens have been detained in Azerbaijan after attempting to cross illegally from Iran, APA reports, citing the State Border Service.
The group was stopped in the area of the Horadiz border detachment. Operative and investigative measures are ongoing.
Why it matters: the Horadiz sector sits on a busy and sensitive frontier, and every intercepted crossing is a reminder of the pressure on it. For Azerbaijan, border control here is part of the wider security of the south.
