Police in Kostanay, Kazakhstan are investigating the killing of an 86-year-old man whose body was found in the courtyard of a building on Kubeyev Street with his throat cut, frightening local residents.
Why it matters: a brutal killing of an elderly man in his own courtyard shakes a neighbourhood in a way statistics never capture, and police attention now turns to who was in that yard and why.
