A Kyrgyz delegation has taken part in the Turkic World Cinema Summit in Istanbul, Turkiye, AKIpress reports, with the summit held on November 4 as part of the 6th Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival.
The festival runs November 3 to 7 in Istanbul, and opened with the Kyrgyz film Aitmatov, about the life of the writer Chingiz Aitmatov, at the historic Atlas 1948 cinema.
Why it matters: cinema is one of the Turkic world's shared languages, and a festival that opens with a Kyrgyz biopic in Istanbul shows that language working in practice.
