Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent warm greetings to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people as his plane crossed into Azerbaijani airspace on the way back from South Korea.
The message, relayed by the pilot through air traffic control, wished the Azerbaijani people peace and prosperity and Aliyev robust health and happiness.
Why it matters: the gesture, days before Azerbaijan's November 8 Victory Day, is a small public reminder of how close the two countries present themselves, on the route home from a major Asia trip.
