Sabah's Champions League night in Norway ended in a heavy defeat. Azerbaijan's Sabah lost 4-1 to Viking in Stavanger in the league phase, after the match had stood level at 1-1.
Head coach Valdas Dambrauskas said his side had travelled well prepared and matched Viking in the first half, but lost the individual battles after the break. Viking coach Bjarte Lunde Aarsheym said his players had written their names into the club's history.
Why it matters: the result leaves Sabah with a steep climb in the league phase, and the second-half collapse, not the scoreline alone, is what the coaching staff will have to answer for.
