Russia's Ryazan oil refinery was reportedly targeted in a drone attack overnight, according to Telegram monitoring channels cited by the Kyiv Independent.
Videos circulating on social media appear to show explosions and a large fire near the facility, one of Russia's largest refineries, operated by state-controlled Rosneft with about 17 million metric tons of annual processing capacity. The Kyiv Independent said it could not immediately verify the footage or confirm damage, and Russian authorities had not confirmed a strike at the time of its report.
The report follows a reader tip to Ateo Breaking earlier in the night. The refinery, about 200 kilometres southeast of Moscow, has been repeatedly targeted in Ukrainian drone strikes in recent months, part of a campaign against Russian fuel infrastructure that Moscow's air defences report intercepting nightly.
Treat this as reported, not confirmed: no official damage assessment has been published yet.
