Uzbekistan's Health Ministry has warned parents about the Coxsackie virus, which can cause meningitis and pneumonia in children.

The virus spreads through dirty hands, toys, dishes and contact with sick children, and it moves fast in kindergartens, even through children with no symptoms. It mostly hits children under five, causing fever, painful mouth sores and blisters on the hands and feet.

The ministry's message is simple: wash hands, keep sick children home, and watch for the symptoms early.
