BREAKING: A gas explosion has torn through an apartment in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, injuring one person.
The blast hit a flat in the 23rd quarter of Chilanzar, in the city's Uchtepa district, on the morning of November 5. Emergency services were called at around 10:00 and found the doors and windows of a neighbouring flat blown out. The injured person was taken to hospital. No one was killed.
The cause is still being established. Gas explosions in apartment blocks have recurred across Uzbekistan: in February, a similar blast in Kokand killed one person and injured three.
