A bomb scare brought the Almaty Metro in Kazakhstan to a halt this morning, and ended with no bomb at all.
A woman at the Raiymbek Batyr station told staff she had an explosive device. Passengers were evacuated, trains were stopped, and police and specialists swept the station. They found nothing.
Police detained the woman. According to Almaty police, she is registered at a mental health centre. The metro is running normally again.
