President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Azerbaijan on November 8 for Victory Day, if no extraordinary circumstances arise.
Erdogan announced the trip on his flight back from South Korea, where he wrapped up a state visit. He said Türkiye's relationship with Azerbaijan goes far beyond classic diplomatic contacts and rests on shared history, culture and fate.
The visit falls on the anniversary of Azerbaijan's victory in the 2020 Karabakh war, the date Baku marks as Victory Day.
Erdogan also said he hopes the outcome of the US midterm elections helps bring lasting peace and stability to the region, and that Türkiye will keep working for peace between Russia and Ukraine, a subject he intends to raise with Vladimir Putin after meeting Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
