The United Nations has opened a summit on government innovation in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the country's ASAN public services model at the centre of it.
The summit, organised by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and Azerbaijan's ASAN service agency, opened at the Gulistan Palace. The head of ASAN, Ulvi Mehdiyev, read out an address from President Ilham Aliyev to the participants.
In the address, Aliyev called ASAN xidmet, the one-stop public service network Azerbaijan created in 2012, a unique Azerbaijani brand that draws international interest. He said the model has been shared with more than 50 countries and won UN public service awards in 2015 and 2019.
