Türkiye will launch a new industrial decarbonisation investment platform at the COP31 climate summit in Antalya next week.
The platform, built by Türkiye's Industry and Technology Ministry with international finance institutions, will back green investment in steel, aluminium, cement and fertiliser. The target is more than 5 billion euros in supported investment by 2030 and 20 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent cut a year.
Green hydrogen, carbon capture, energy efficiency, renewable power and climate technology are the priority areas. The European Investment Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank are expected to join the platform, with a signing ceremony during COP31 on November 9-20.
