The market administration has ordered several rows to stop work from November 10, with goods to be removed by November 20, after which the stalls will be sealed. Fabric sellers are already discounting stock as they try to work out the terms of a move to the new Ala-Too market.
Traders are asking what compensation, if any, they will get.
