BREAKING: A building has collapsed in Istanbul's Bahcelievler district, Türkiye, after the ground gave way during foundation excavation at a neighbouring construction site.
Two workers were buried under the soil. Rescue teams pulled one out alive, and the search continues for the second.
It is the second excavation collapse in the same district in days: on October 29 a retaining wall failed at another Bahcelievler site and 20 flats in two nearby buildings were evacuated. Istanbul builds fast, and its excavation sites keep failing the same way.
