Uzbekistan's central bank has raised its inflation forecast for the end of 2026 from 6.5 percent to 7 percent, blaming higher energy prices.
At the same press conference, the bank's deputy chairman said there is room to gradually ease monetary conditions by about 2 percentage points.
The two messages pull in opposite directions: prices are running hotter than expected, but the bank still thinks it can start cutting rates. The next decision, on December 16, will show which worry wins.
