Kazakhstan and Germany have signed 11 cooperation agreements around the Alatau City project, the new city Kazakhstan is building near Almaty.
The deals were signed in Berlin during an investment roadshow led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, covering industry, energy, construction and urban development.
Alatau City is Kazakhstan's bet that it can build a modern satellite city from scratch with foreign technology and money. German firms are now formally part of that bet.
