A strange scam is back on the streets of Tashkent: adverts offering $1,000 for a bat's nest.
The scheme, explained in a viral post by Tashkent_Land, works on greed. One scammer posts an advert saying they will buy a bat's nest for $1,000. A second, supposedly random, seller then appears offering a nest for sale. The buyer pays up, and the nest, worthless, is the last they see of their money.
Police have warned about the trick before, but the adverts keep reappearing on lampposts and online. The rule is simple: nobody pays $1,000 for a bat's nest.
