Kloop reports that Technotop, a contractor paid to repair streets in the Kyrgyz capital, used substandard material, in one case described as more like modelling clay than asphalt. The investigation asks what the company did with the millions it was paid.
The story has struck a nerve in Bishkek, where residents have long complained that newly repaired roads crumble within months.
