A fire has torn through an ethno-complex in Kyrgyzstan's Chunkurchak gorge, injuring three people.
The blaze broke out overnight at Supara-2, destroying the kitchen, around 350 to 400 square metres, and a wooden yurt. Around 1,500 square metres were damaged in total, and firefighters only brought the fire fully under control at around 4pm.
Three cooks were hurt. Supara is one of Kyrgyzstan's best-known mountain retreats, a cluster of yurts and restaurants in the gorge above Bishkek, and the fire is a blow to a place that draws visitors from across the region.
