The footage, shared by Kazakhstan's forestry and wildlife committee, shows the otter moving through reeds at night in a nature reserve. Seeing one in the wild is rare enough; catching it on camera is rarer still.
The river otter is a protected species in Kazakhstan, and its presence is a sign the reserve's wetlands are healthy.
