Tashkent's metro has come a long way in a decade.
In 2016 the network had 29 stations and 38 kilometres of track. Today it has 50 stations, with 21 new stops and 33 kilometres of new line built in ten years, and trains now run every two minutes at peak times.
The expansion has turned the metro from a Soviet-era system into the backbone of the Uzbek capital's transport, carrying a growing share of the city's commuters.
