Uzbekistan is bringing in a new set of rules for outsourcing in its state hospitals and clinics.

Under the new procedure, state medical institutions will be able to sign outsourcing contracts with private companies for up to five years, and in some cases up to ten. The plan is for outsourced services to reach 30 percent of clinical and support services purchased by 2030.

The idea is to let state hospitals buy in clinical and support services from private firms rather than running everything in-house, freeing up public money and management time for actual treatment.
